What is The Angel, and who is behind it?

The Angel is an IACP Award-winning Los Angeles newsletter about food, restaurants, and the people who shape how we eat. It’s edited by Emily Wilson, a journalist whose work has appeared in T Magazine, Bon Appétit, the Los Angeles Times, New York Magazine, Eater, Vogue, the San Francisco Chronicle, and ICON, among other outlets. Photographs are by David Gurzhiev. The food writer and cookbook author Jamie Feldmar is a regular contributor, too.

But wait, wasn’t The Angel a New York thing, too?

It was. The Angel began in L.A. in the fall of 2023, then moved with me to my native New York while we were living there from 2025 to 2026. Now I'm back in Los Angeles, where I'm meant to be, and so is the publication, where it's meant to be. Expect a mix of longform pieces and POV-driven intel from me, Jamie, and friends of The Angel.
