I’ve lived and worked as a chef in highland since 2018 and I grew up in west hills my whole life since 1992. Essentially I’ve lived in la and la adjacent my whole life. That being said, I’m familiar with many aspects of Los Angeles. I think this is an unfair statement to say. There are many different people here in HP; locals, hipsters, out of state of towners, etc. are they all great? No. But you go anywhere and you’ll find people you don’t jive with. I think statements like this that make umbrella opinions that encompass a whole location or vibe based on one random dudes experience is off-base and one-sided. Ive been to Sam’s place plenty of times, it’s amazing. Don’t listen to some know-it-all who claims a whole portion of LA is lame or the people “suck”. Has is become significantly more gentrified over the years? Yes, but it’s about adapting to the new norms instead of becoming bitter and honestly part of the problem. Sam’s place is literally the product of gentrification..
