Restaurant — Cannonball
I am *thrilled* that Hippo’s Matt Molina decided to open his next restaurant in South Pasadena instead of Highland Park. We need this: A date night spot where the quality truly matches the price; where there’s ambition that’s backed up in execution; where there’s some well-deserved buzz and good lighting and it feels like just a little bit of scene. Especially after Bar Chelou’s closure, I’m just really rooting for Cannonball. Hopefully it proves that this kind of restaurant can succeed here. Get the burger, get the celery salad, get the biscuits, get other operators to consider Old Town and South Pasadena.
