Plugs is The Angel’s recs column. Every week, you’ll get six picks—a restaurant, a bar, a shop, an ingredient, a person, and a treat—from someone in Los Angeles who knows what they’re talking about. (Plugs are for paid subscribers of The Angel only. However, if you’re in the restaurant industry and want a free subscription, hit me up. :))
#40 is Dalya Benor, a writer born and raised in L.A. She has bylines in the New York Times, Vogue, Dazed & Confused, Office Magazine, Interview, CULTURED, and The Face, covering culture, fashion, art, and sometimes food. Highlights from her portfolio include the appeal of the celeb magnet Sushi Park, trendsetting tablemakers, and the architecture of Fluffy McCloud’s. Dalya is also a copywriter, and she’s dabbled in jewelry design, too. She lives between New York and L.A., mostly in New York these days, but her foothold in Los Angeles remains. Here are her L.A. plugs!
Restaurant — Jones
A classic L.A. spot. Great for dates, people-watching, and a nonstop, buzzy ambiance that feels like New York. Plus, it's one of the rare bar-restaurants where you can get food and drinks til 2 a.m. Tower Bar, Dan Tana's, and Musso's are my other favorite classic spots.
