Welcome to 2025, angels! We don’t partake in year-end roundups like best dishes or favorite restaurants. However, we love to resurface our favorite photos from the last six months of stories, twice a year. Words and images are a match made in heaven, a pairing as old as time, a union we cherish here at The Angel.

Before I drop my 2025 predictions next week, here’s a look back at the latter half of 2024—in pictures. A few were taken by me (guess which?), but most are by David, besides the photos of Abe Schoener, which are by Bono.

A quick reminder: today, the price of a subscription goes up to $6/month and $60/year. The increased funds will enable us to invest more deeply in covering the Los Angeles food scene, do better work, and keep The Angel running smoothly. We have so much more in store for you this year.
