The time has come for my final installment of My Los Angeles Right Now. This list has been a cornerstone of The Angel—consistently the most opened email and the most clicked link with every release. Everyone loves a recommendation, and I’m glad mine have been useful. Don’t worry, this won’t be the last Los Angeles restaurant list I write; I plan to visit often.
As a refresher: My L.A. RN is a list of the restaurants I’m most excited about or frequenting most right now—and why. It’s not skewed towards new openings, though a few may make it in. Every four months, some places drop from my rotation and, therefore, from the list. That doesn’t mean they’re no longer great; it just means I haven’t been visiting as often, and so other spots have taken their place. For instance, while I’m sure Damian’s margaritas are still best-in-class, it’s been too long since my last visit, so they’re off for now. And though I love Sal’s Place, they’re back in Cape Cod for the summer.
This list is where I send anyone who asks for my L.A. recommendations. My hope is that it guides both Angelenos and visitors—whether you’re looking to try a restaurant for the first time or to know if it’s still delivering. This final edition features 10 new entries and three returns, organized from casual to fancy.
